 A Casambi Bluetooth transceiver is integrated into Versalamp smart lamps.  Control is by any smart device like smartphones, tablets and smartwatches or Bluetooth enable devices.  The Casambi App is used to configure and operate the lighting system.  The Casambi App is free from the app store for both iOS and Android.   The Casambi app is made by user interface experts and in a way, that anyone – regardless of technical proficiency – can use it.   The Casambi lighting control technology gives a possibility for Casambi’s partners to implement and develop anything needed for a full-featured lighting control system, but the Casambi app only shows in the user interface the functionality that is relevant to that particular installation.  The entire Casambi ecosystem of products are 100% compatible with all Casambi’s partners’ products.

Wireless Mesh Network

On top of Bluetooth Low Energy, the Casambi technology provides a mesh network where all the intelligence of the system is replicated in every node and, in such a way, creates a system with no single points of failure. Such self-organizing wireless mesh network can control a large number of fixtures from any point. It also allows for firmware updates over the network, allowing any kind of changes to be made over-the-air. The Casambi devices are smart on their own and only connected when

needed. An Internet connection is not necessary for normal operation, it is just needed for user interface configurations to be sent or recalled from the cloud service. 

Ecosystem

The extensive Casambi ecosystem enables a complete end-to-end solution.  Casambi works with leading designers and manufacturers to create an ever-growing ecosystem of Casambi and partner wireless lighting control products, sensors, switches, drivers, dimmers, luminaires, control interfaces, modules and accessories.  VersaLamp smart lamps are the only linear Casambi enable LED lamp on the market.  The entire Casambi ecosystem of software and products are compatible with VersaLamp smart lamps.   

Many types of Casambi enable switches can be used with VersaLamp smart lamps.  These include line voltage switches or battery powered switches.  Most of these switches include multiple buttons and functions that are set-up and programmed by the app. 

Occupancy and daylight sensors are easily  connected and programmed by the app into the control system for indoor and outdoor applications.  

The Casambi network can be accessed remotely by connecting the system to a gateway.  This will enable ethernet-based integration of the Casambi Bluetooth system for remote access functionality.  Both iOS or Android devices can be used with a gateway.  This can further extend the reach of the network to provide entire building or remote control through WiFi.
